I do not believe these figures as the latter, DUI, usually leads to the former, speeding

I'm sure that the government are satisfied with these figures and are now sweeping all the evidence underneath the rug a quickly as possible.

And the ones who died today or will die tomorrow or the day after etc. from their injuries are not included. Not even catagorised as a road fatatality.

Another Songkran, another year,  forgotten already.

Does the government care...NO

263 dead seems ok, life is valued differently here, so the government should find this number acceptable or even spin it as a win for the administration, it is spin season after all, so... good job Prayut?

im willing to bet most of those that died on scooters were wearing a mask though....

Well done that's a result start another list tomorrow at the world hub of straight road crashing  ????

Is that an improvement on previous years?

Looks like it,  that's about 40 a day.

pre Covid it was about 65.

Some people are just letting the side down.

I'm sure numbers will be back up to par next year.

TIT.

Good for them.. wear a mask, wear a helmet, their choice!

14,177 cases of driving without a driver’s licence

In most countries that would be inconceivable. But in Thailand it makes little difference whether they have a license or not. The driving standards are the same.

I dunno, I know many Thai people that have not been drinking going from a full stop outside the house to light-speed in a few seconds

200, 500, 1000, 2000 road deaths no problem but if anyone has a runny nose from covid or even a sigle death well thats headline news...

Alcohol is expensive, ganja is cheaper, alcohol causes accidents, ganja less so. I hope this is a factor in years to come.

Also, ganja retail sales now create tax revenue.

Ganja is now legal (sort of) and removes mafia and corruption from the financial and criminal equation.

Ganja sales help small retail businesses to survive and feed families now, unlike before.
