Horrified foodies claim they will never eat Parmesan cheese again after finding out how it's made

Featured Replies

it is about time they grew up and joined the real world.

If you have been eating parmesan cheese for years, why stop now?

If you really don't want to eat it after discovering how it is made, then don't eat it.

Why single out Parmesan? Lots of cheeses are made with rennet.

It's a cheap basic cheese. Lots of better cheese out there.

Try Ash triple cream Brie. That's a proper cheese.

Parmesan, meaning Parmesan-Reggiano is hardly cheap. It actually cost more than most cheddars. It can only come from Northern Italy and has to be aged for a year before sale.Parmesan can be made anywhere, with milk from anywhere, but the taste isn't the same. Millions eat it daily, and if you've ever tasted good Parmesan, you would see the difference. of course, you might not like Parmesan and prefer other cheeses, which you consider "better" Personal taste doesn't mean anything. To each their own. I love and prefer Emmentaler, Muenster, Gruyere, Cheddar, other Swiss cheese, Mozzarella, but will eat most any cheese, including Brie, Camembert and even regular yellow cheese on burgers.

People sprinkle it on pasta. It's basic stuff. Proper cheese is eaten as a separate dish.

Parmesan is eaten as a cheese on its own - it doesn't only go on pasta.

Depends how it's use, if it's worth the extra expense.

Make your own, wear socks for a few days, and fill with cheddar, same smell init.:cheesy:
