ronwel
Hi there, I am currently on a Visa Exempt (30 days left). I have a Thai child (5 years old), mother passed away and I am the sole parent. I am trying to get the Non-Immigrant O Visa (Thai Child) visa, it's my understanding that I have to apply and get the 3 month version first before applying for the 1 year extension. Is it possible to apply for this initial 3 month within Thailand given that I have a month left in the country still? Or do I explicitly have to apply from outside the country (such as Laos)? I have all the required documents and funds (400k in a Thai bank) Thanks for any advice
DrJack54
You can obtain non O based on parent of Thai child from inside Thailand. You need to apply with 15+ days remaining on your visa exempt stamp. Which immigration office? This thread has post from ubonjoe with useful links. Both for non O and 12 month extension.. https://aseannow.com/topic/1275570-visa-based-on-child/ Edited May 3, 2023 by DrJack54
