up-country_sinclair Posted May 3, 2023 Share Posted May 3, 2023 Hi, I found my old Acer external hard drive (2010?) while sorting through boxes, but the cables seem to have disappeared. The power adapter should be easy enough to source, but I'm not familiar with the USB adapter. It looks like something you would see on a printer. As for why bother, perhaps the OP has something on there he'd like to retrieve? Power supplies are easily sourced on lazada and the OP has said it won't be a bother. Your 'dinosaur' reference is antagonizing. Is there any marking on the drive case indicating what the PSU requirements are? It's likely 12V @ 2A which would be a readily available wall-wart supply (Lazada), but do check what the drive says. Power supplies of varying quality, and hence safety, are available on Lazada and many other places. All he needs to know is the voltage, current drawn by the drive, the physical size of both the external and internal elements and the polarity. I was merely trying to help. Some repliers seem to interpret the OP's post as that he can find the original power supply. I did not, and he actualyl admits it in a later post.
