Gastroscopy/Colonoscopy/Polypectomy

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Respectfully seeking advice on the title subject from those with (reasonably) recent experience.

Live in Hua Hin but willing to travel. Received a estimation of 53- 86k baht for the pre-procedure and both procedures from local branch of Bangkok Hospital. Doesn't include meds, follow up, complications etc. Bottom end of that (53k) seems higher but similar to other figures I've seen quoted by BKK hospitals but wanting to avoid an blank cheque scenario. 30k spread seems to make an estimation pretty pointless especially as I am self funding.

Any info. regarding quality of service and care, pricing (actual and in comparison to estimate) and specialist clinics that may be good but less dugitally visible to farangs would be thankfully received. Had some MRIs done at a clinic in BKk recently with latest technology and medical interpretation  for 50% of main player quotes (BH, Bumungrad etc.)

Many thanks

You should be able to go a lot cheaper by using a government hospital, some members are saying <10k!

Recently paid 45k (colon only) at our local private (and definitely not cheap) hospital including a night's stay due to the procedure finishing late. Included a couple of very decent meals.

Can indeed be done for less at a government hospital but not in his area and given the need to travel and make appointment in advance, I can see why he'd be thinking private.

OP the wild card is whether polyps are found and if so, how many as there is a charge for each biopsy. No one can predict that in advance.

Thonburi Hospital Chumporn branch is offering a very competitively priced package

It's a good 3 hours from you so about same distance as Bangkok but you are unlikely to get that price at a private hospital in Bangkok

You might also call Chaophya hospital (Thonburi) to see what their combined package costs https://chaophrayahospital.com/?page_id=224#Treatment
