THE MOVE FORWARD claimed victory in yesterday’s general election with party leader Pita Lim-jaroen-rat confirming he is ready to run the country. After a very close run between the Pua Thai party.
However with such a close race it’s still not 100 percent clear who will form the next government.

 
Police arrested nine people in a crackdown operation that resulted in the seizure of 1.5 tonnes of crystal methamphetamines. The illicit drugs were being loaded onto a boat for smuggling out of the country.

 

Authorities suspect that the arrested individuals belong to a larger network that has smuggled substantial quantities of drugs out of the country on at least three previous occasions.

 

A woman attacked her husband with a gun and a knife near a polling station in Samut Prakan yesterday.

 

The man, aged  63, was driving with his minor wife when his legal wife signaled him to stop in front of a school.

 

He ignored her and continued driving, prompting his legal wife to jump into the back of the truck and shoot him in the back. The woman was detained by police.

 

The body of a Russian man who went missing after being swept out to sea by strong waves on Friday was found floating in the sea off Kathu phuket yesterday. 


A fisherman spotted the lifeless body of 32 year old Lurri Smoian and notified authorities who are investigating the incident. 

 

In volleyball At the Seagames in Cambodia,  Thailand beat vietnam last night in the third and final set, with a two-point clear margin needed to win the set after the teams reached a tie at 25-25.

Cyclone mocha which slammed into Myanmar and Bangladesh yesterday with wind speeds of around 200 kilometers per hour  has claimed at least 5 lives and caused extensive damage to property communications, power supplies and basic shelters used by refugees. Cyclone mocha was the biggest storm to hit the Bay of Bengal in more than a decade.
