Moves are underway to form a 6 party coalition government that would include the Pua Thai party headed by the Move Forward party, however they only have 152 Mp’s while they need 376 for their leader K, Pita Lim-jaroen-rat, to become prime minister, support from other parties may still only amount to 310.

 

The Thai baht rose just under 1 percent per cent against the dollar,   with investors upbeat that a coalition government led by the Move Forward Party will be pro-growth.

 

Meanwhile,

Two senators have expressed their refusal to endorse K, Pita, the leader of the Move Forward Party, as  prime minister. Their concerns arise from their doubts regarding his stance on the monarchy. The Move Forward Party, along with Mr. Pita, had previously declared their intention to abolish Section 112, known as the Les Majeste law. One senator argued that a prime ministerial candidate must demonstrate loyalty to the country, its religious institutions, and the monarch.

 

A 25-year-old Polish man, Jan Filippow, was arrested for allegedly murdering his Ukrainian girlfriend and attempting to dismember her body with a Saw found in a condominium in Bangkok.. He fled the scene by taxi but was later caught as he was crossing into Cambodia at a  border checkpoint.

 

At least 30 million baht is believed to have been swindled from 10 people who booked a fake package tour to see a football match in England,  

Leaving several victims in financial difficulties after taking out their life savings to pay for the tour. 

Pol Gen Surachate said the tour organizer had been arrested, but it was unclear how the victims could be refunded. 

 

Health authorities have warned the public that there has been a resurgence of Covid-19 infections with related hospital admissions up by 39 percent during the last week

They advised people to be serious about protecting themselves from the disease and should get both a flu and covid vaccines.
