On May 24, 2566, authorities responded to an accident involving an oil tanker and a parked oil truck near the U-turn point on the frontage road of the 1st Economic Highway, in close proximity to the Toyota Sure showroom (mile marker 11) on the inbound route to Samut Sakhon.

Upon arriving at the scene located in Tambon Khlong Maduea, the emergency response team from the Chaiwatvech Hospital and the municipal firefighting unit of Khlong Maduea inspected the accident site.

Upon inspection, it was fortunate that no injuries were reported. Two oil trucks were involved in the collision, resulting in an oil spill on the road. It should be noted that both trucks were empty and not loaded with oil at the time of the incident, reported Siam Rath.

The rear-ended truck was parked adjacent to the white-red line, awaiting its turn to receive oil from the Recycle Oil Company, which was located a short distance away from the accident scene. The oil tanker suddenly collided with the rear portion of the parked truck.

After further investigation, it was revealed that the driver of the oil tanker claimed that they had been driving continuously and failed to notice the parked truck as they approached it.

Consequently, they were unable to brake in time, resulting in a collision. Fortunately, both parties were fortunate that neither vehicle contained oil in their tanks, and no injuries were sustained.

The details of the accident, including the cause and any injuries sustained, are still under investigation.

The two drivers involved where summoned to the Krathum Baen Police Station for additional questioning and legal proceedings.
