The Ministry of Environment has stated that there are around 400-600 wild elephants roaming in Cambodia. Net Pheaktra, Spokesman and Secretary of State of the Ministry of Environment, on the afternoon of May 31, 2023, stated that “Elephants in Cambodia are Asian elephants whose main habitat is in the northeastern region and the Cardamom Mountains of Cambodia.”
