Are you ready to show your pride and support for diversity, inclusivity, and equality?

Then this weekend, presented by SWING, will be a series of can’t miss events on Jomtien Beach and the nearby Jomtien Complex.

The parade will feature a large variety of marchers, music, floats, festivities, influencers, models, celebrities, and more and will gather at the Chaiyapruek intersection on Jomtien Beach at 3PM, Saturday, June 10th, 2023.

Found this a great discussion on pride between two gay people

I watched the Pattaya Pride March this afternoon in Jomtien.

It was charming.

It took about an hour to pass.

I'm going out on a limb as I assume this was the biggest Pride parade in Pattaya history.

It occurs to me that Thai LGBT political activists have become very organized behind clear goals.

These were all highlighted in the parade.

Marriage equality

Right to legally change gender

Sex work legalization

Better health care access for LGBT specific issues

The energy was similar to an earlier phase US parade. It was fresh energy. There war no corporate sponsors. It was fun. There was very little to scare the horses. There were no bigots or religious fanatics trying to spoil it.

Did you know there was a 16 year gap between this year's Pride parade and the last one?!?

Clearly some good stuff is happening here. Congrats to the Thai LGBTs for coming into their own.

Pride in Thailand is at a very different phase than Pride in London.

Haters gonna hate.

I thought it was well balanced.

It was not super professional and as said before no corporate sponsors.

There was a feeling of COMMUNITY that I haven't seen much here before.

It reminded me of American Pride parades before they got corrupted by money.

I didn't say I hated it, I was saying that it should be renamed due to the many weirdos and freaks participating. Why are you being nasty?

What did you see, just normal people?

BTW, it should be a night time event, like that of the best gay Mardi Gras on the planet, the Sydney Gay Mardi Gras.

Sadly, some of the sights shown were not for children to see.

You don't control how others perceive your comments.

Calling a Pride parade FREAKS & WEIRDOS Parade is extremely disrespectul, indeed hateful.

If you don't wish your comments to be seen as hateful, stop posting hateful comments. Easy.

My eyes saw freaks and weirdos.

It's not hateful, it's the truth, it's my opinion.

If you don't understand and can't accept members have different opinions to yours it's best that you find another forum to join.

I accept that you have your opinion.

You don't seem to accept that I view your opinion as explicitly expressing HATRED to LGBT people.

You want it only one way.

You don't get that.

I was born and grew up in Sydney, I was a regular at the Sydney gay and lesbian Mardi Gras, went every year with my gf.

You keep talking hate.

I have no hate in me, I don't hate anything or anyone, please don't make comments about me hating, it's antagonizing and hurtful.

If you don't have any hate in you, then stop posting hateful comments about Pride parades. It's not complicated. This isn't about your intentions which we can't know. This is about what you posted. It was hateful. End of.

That's the problem, that you don't think they are  normal people .

If homosexuality was accepted as the normal part of the human experience that it is, they might not need to have gay pride parades!!

Or have to hide it in the dark and perhaps hold them at night as you suggested.

As I mentioned before I was particularly impressed with the very well organized POLITICAL signs that clearly stated the current GOALS of the Thai LGBTQ civil rights movement. Every country is at a different place with this. I have commented in the past that Thai LGBTQ political activists don't seem very motivated or organized. So if they don't care enough to get it together, I saw no reason for f-rangs to care either (not that f-rangs should ever take actions in Thai politics here, they should not). It took a really long time but these signs of maturation are very encouraging. Congratulations to the Thais. You're on your way.

OMG, another bloody antagonizer.

'I don't think they are normal'.

Where the bloody hell did I say that?

I reckon you're the one with the hate.

You should get some professional help
