From my travel agent (and visa run operator) I got the news that it's no longer necessary to hold a confirmation of a ticket booking when

applying for a 30 day stamp in Ban Laem (Cambodia).

However, you need to pay a THB 200 fee at the border. Not quite sure what this fee is.

Anybody?

Yesterday I went to the Duang border.2 guys who claim they work there, said I needed a bus ticket. After they got a copy of one, then they said that costs 300 baht plus 300 baht service fee. They said everyone is required to have a ticket and insisted they work there. When I went to Duang the month before, after one of them kept bugging me,claiming he worked there,I let him help me and wasn't charged.

Has anyone had similar experience at the Duang Border? Are tickets required?Do those guys work there?I doubt it. Thanks

Just two weeks ago, those with me, but without a visa in Daung were charged 200 baht total for the bus ticket.

If it's now 600 baht total, then apparently there's quite a bit of inflation going on in Cambodia.

:o

Looks like they are back to collecting 200 baht, instead of the 600, for the confirmation of ticket booking for the 30-dayers at Ban Laem.... :D

i did the thaivisa visa run recently and they did not require us to buy bus ticket(the 200 one). man in charge couldnt explain, he just said no need this time.

ban laem border i s where we went.

free lunch very good being free.

why dont casinos use chips , it would drastically improve their bottom line.

my god the cards they use look old as dirt.

timewise it took about 9 hours. is this as good as it gets.

im 3 days into 30 day visa can i get 7 day extension now so i can buy my plane ticket back to states.

Extensions are not automatic for 30 day visa exempt entry. Believe any 7 day extension will be from date of application - you can call 1111 and ask for immigration to check.
