webfact
Bhumjaithai party leader Anutin Charnvirakul has dismissed the suggestion that the party take the lead in forming an alternative administration, in case the eight coalition parties led by the Move Forward party fail to form a government. As the third largest party, after Move Forward and Pheu Thai, in terms of House seats, he said that it is the right of the Move Forward and Pheu Thai parties to form the government with their six partners. The Bhumjaithai party, said Anutin, is ready to perform its role in opposition or in government and, more importantly, in parliament. He dismissed as completely groundless any speculation that representatives of the Move Forward party had approached Newin Chidchob, reputed to be the de facto leader of the Bhumjaithai party, asking for the party’s support for Pita Limjaroenrat’s prime ministerial candidacy. What should be more of a priority is to serve the constituents and the commons as a collective, instead of the petty backbiting and self-interest swindling that is the make up of elected politicians.

Agreed, however we are talking about Bhumjaithai and ultimately Newin Chidchob! Edited June 26, 2023 by herfiehandbag
TigerandDog
"The Bhumjaithai party, said Anutin, is ready to perform its role in opposition or in government and, more importantly, in parliament." What role could he possibly perform in parliament. He didn't stand for election as an MP and therefore he wasn't elected. So what role could he posibly perform? Eric Loh
Judging from recent statements by Anutin and Prawit and plus the fact that Prayut is packing and has not spoken politically, I think the junta coalition's back is broken and they have conceded. The MFP and their 6 coalition parties will form the next government and probably will gain 2 more partners by accepting Chart Pattana Kia Party in the coalition with Korn quitting. Left now with the question of who will be PM. When the House Speaker position is settled on Wed, we probably have a clue.

I would not rule out that they are just lying...So they can claim later that it was not their doing, but not as they failed all by themself they come to rescue the country. If they don't do it than only because they didn't had an opportunity.
