New COVID-19 infections in Thailand and other countries were steadily falling over the past month, with fewer fatalities, according to Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong, public health permanent secretary.

He expressed concern, however, for people over 60 and those suffering from underlying diseases, pointing out that most of the fatalities were people over 70 and those who were not vaccinated.

According to the Department of Disease Control, there were 1,653 hospital admissions between June 18th and 24th. Of these, 265 suffered from lung infections, 164 need ventilators and 36 died.

Dr. Opas appealed to relatives of those over 60 or with underlying conditions to bring them to hospitals or clinics for COVID-19 vaccination, along with the anti-flu vaccine. They are also advised to bring children, aged from six months to five years, for COVID inoculation, to reduce the risk of death or severe symptoms.

Basic immunology seems frightening to you.    The way that it works is, if enough people are immunized, a disease effectively disappears. You know, like polio and smallpox.

Good news.   If enough people were to get annual boosters, Covid would effectively disappear.

Covid is like the common Flu now....

Seems all normal now. But people, thankfully in low numbers, are still dying, others in  hospital ICU and many with lung issues. Long Covid is a serious overlooked problem.?

We all went through a planet changing epidemic.

Will it ever end?

Not so sure about that one.

"aged from six months to five years, for COVID inoculation"

Not many countries think that this is a good idea.....

have you been sleeping the last few month?

vaccine does not give you immunity against Covid...you can still get it and spread it.

polio and smallpox are complete different viruses.....Covid is more compareable with the flu. Which everyone had already and still we get it again and again as as with Covid it mutates.

True... for people with co-morbidities and a compromised immune system.

Wearing masks and getting 5 jabs really hasn't worked out too well.

You're right about the natural selection, just not in the way that you meant it. I just pray that you really are as "vaccinated" as you claim to be.

Let's see...

Medical science has concluded that vaccination suppresses Covid.

But, anonymous posters make claims that it doesn't, and they don't cite any medical studies.

Who to believe?

BTW, where are you on the Flat Earth thing?

This isn't a flaw in medical science, it's a cognitive problem on the part of anti-vaxxers.

Earth is round, what about the planet you are from?

Covid will never disappear as you claim if we jab everything with a pulse, the experts have already said we need to live with it.

Some people just don't like to hear positive news as per the headline......not quite ready to accept they have been deluded for 2-3 years!

more positive news that the worst of covid is behind us.

protection against severe illness....not coming in the ICU: OK and what has that to do with your quote Covid "effectively disappears".

No it will not disappear...it will stay with us....

And the anti vaxxer will get infected and will have the same immunity the vaccinated have after they got infected on top of it. And that immunity will help but you'll still get the next mutation....

Now in 2023 really everyone should know that.

A troll post as well as a conspiracy fake news site link have been removed.

We have some immunity....and Covid get less and less harmful....it will fall back to the normal usual corona viruses that are unpleasant but no drama.

Or short: It is over....

This is kind of a self fulfilling prophecy, which boils down to:

"Covid will never disappear because I will never get vaccinated".

I wish you could guarantee that.

Mutations are random. If Covid could mutate into a more deadly form that was also infectious, you would be in big trouble.

Now in 2023 really everyone should know that.

Let's start with the most basic concept:

If the R number for any infectious disease drops below 0 in a population, the disease will disappear in that population.

Right?

I guess the millions who died were deluded about the seriousness of Covid.
