Anti-military groups doubt news of Thai FM meeting with Suu Kyi

Many people, including groups that are openly against the current military-led government in Myanmar, are doubting the claims of a meeting and discussion between Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai and the imprisoned Aung San Suu Kyi.

 

Prior to revealing that he had met with the Nobel Laureate to the reporters, Don had divulged information about the meeting to his peers at an ASEAN Foreign Ministers meeting in Jakarta.

 

The meeting would be the first time since the 2021 coup that Aung San Suu Kyi, imprisoned in Nay Pyi Taw serving 33 years, would have been allowed to meet with a foreign dignitary.

My Karen GF finds it highly problematic if the FM did meet with her.  She has said that there is no way the Myanmar (Burmese) Military would let her speak with anyone unless a deal was being brokered, and there is no way Thailand would be behind such a deal.

Is nice you at least seem like you agree with your girlfriend. In ASEAN meeting has been talk of  Thai talking with Myanmar junta too. Is all lies maybe? Or like normal only some information is  fact? Suu Kyi was before a hero an then not and now again? Nothing is truth but the moment and that is not able to have control .

FM Don's curious efforts towards Myanmar, while he is in caretaker mode, has a rotten stench. I don't get the purpose of his allegedly meeting with ASSK, or why he felt the need to reveal the details of the alleged meeting. He also appeared to be quoting ASSK...
