Popular Post walailak
Good afternoon forum, Yesterday I was able to open a new savings account with GSB by using only my yellow book and pink id. No passport, no visa checked etc by them as they were only interested in my yellow book and pink id, and the account is registered with that 13 digit pink id (same as my other three Thai banks and that number never changes as a passport would) Very easy process, the bank lady (spoke very good English) prepared everything as she knew from last week that I'm coming in. All smiles, took less than an hour, 100 Baht deposit to open. Also at the end the staff registered me for their app (mymo by gsb) and it worked as it only takes a citizen ID to register (pink ID in my case). Used the app to connect /favourites my other three Thai banks. Walked out with my new shiny pink coloured bank book. Wife next time to me at all times but she had nothing to do with the process except the occasional 'ka ka ka'...... now and then Saphanmai area, north of BKK. So much for not being a farang friendly bank......????✌️ 1
bravo19
Thanks for sharing your experience with gsb. Do you think it is necessary to have a yellow book and pink id card to open a savings account there? I would like to open a savings account at gsb too, but have only a thai driving license. Do you think it is sufficient?

I have tried GSB, as many others have, without success. Same with GH bank. I have yellow book ansd pink card I have accounts at 6 other Thai banks, but always had to try different branches before I succeeded, and with LH Bank I had to involve head office before I was able to open a Pro-fit account. HampiK
@walailak You already can do the face registration (For transaction over 50'000 Baht)? (They should use a Ipad to scan your face for this). As last time I checked this was not possible yet at GSB.
Middle Aged Grouch
All depends on which branch. People have opened bank accounts just on visa exempt in Phuket and on showing just the passport.
