A blaze ignited within the Pacharagit Building of Phra Mongkut Hospital, necessitating the immediate intervention of emergency teams to transfer patients in severe condition. Eight such patients were relocated, a mission which spanned just over an hour. Preliminary findings point to an electrical malfunction as the root cause.

The ordeal unfolded at 18:18 on the evening of July 23rd. The local fire brigade, bolstered by a water tanker and the altruistic efforts of Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers, converged on the scene swiftly, reported Thai Rath.

Their inspection revealed the origin: a malfunctioning electrical system on the building's inaugural floor. The fire was promptly subdued, leaving the structure intact. However, dense smoke had filled the building, prompting the introduction of large fans to clear the air.

In a collaborative effort, the hospital's staff and the rescue crews shifted the eight gravely ill patients to the Chalermphrakiat Building.

To ensure safety, individuals on the second and third levels were provisionally shifted to the top floor. While the current consensus blames an electrical glitch, a comprehensive probe will soon be launched to determine the definitive cause.
