The Pheu Thai Party and Bhum Jai-thai Party announced progress in forming a coalition government at a press conference yesterday.


Former health minister Anutin said that Bhum-jai-thai had agreed to join with Pheu Thai, based on three conditions: No interfering with the lese majeste law, secondly, it would not be a minority government led by Pheu Thai; and thirdly:  Move Forward Party should not be a part of the new government.  With these conditions tentatively accepted, Another vote of appointed senators and MPs is likely towards the end of next week.


Party leaders had difficulty leaving due to protesters demonstrating outside.

 

The Criminal Court has sentenced a Hospital director to five years in prison and fined him 100,000 baht for defaming a local MP. The sentence was suspended for two years.


Dr Rian-tong was ordered to remove posts on facebook alleging the MP had obstructed work at a field hospital set up for covid patients.

 

A german father died after swimming with his son at karon beach phuket last night. 


The mans 11 year old son managed to swim back to shore, and get help for his father who was given CPR but died later in hospital.

Prime Minister Prayut visited Suvarnabhum airports new Terminal 1 ahead of a soft launch next month. 


The new terminal will be able to handle around 15 million passengers per year, bringing airport capacity up to 60 million passengers annually 


An automated train service links the new terminal with the main airport,

Hong Kong's justice secretary says the government would appeal a high court judgement that rejected a legal injunction to ban the popular protest song ‘Glory to Hong Kong’.


The court stated such a prohibition could undermine freedom of expression and cause potential "chilling effects".


The injunction application came after Glory to Hong Kong was played at several international sporting events, instead of China's national anthem.
