Popular Post webfact Posted August 8, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 8, 2023 In a bizarre incident, Luang Lung, a monk from Wat Ban Huak in Phayao, crashed his sedan while allegedly intoxicated, causing a scene on the streets. Locals, infuriated by the behavior, captured a video of the monk's intoxicated actions and abusive language within the temple premises, reported 77kaoded. On August 7th, the car crash occurred on the Phu Sang-Ban Huak road. Though senior monks were unable to find the accused monk within the temple, villagers confirmed his identity. Village leaders plan to address the incident and the monk's actions in a community meeting. Picture: 77kaoded The troubling footage, which has circulated on social media for a month, portrays a dispute between the monk and a local craftsman. The temple has initiated an inquiry into the matter, and the community is debating how to deal with the wayward monk. The incident has prompted concerns about the monk's behavior during a sensitive period and raised questions about his continued presence within the temple. Popular Post Bangkok Barry Posted August 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2023 Follows on from another monk behaving badly report yesterday. And aren't monks forbidden from driving anyway? Once again, there is Buddhism and there is Thai Buddhism, and there is little similarity in the two. 1 2
Grumpy one Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 To be fair to the monk, this did happen before Buddhist lent ( no drinking ) which started last week
