webfact Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 The deputy leader of the Move Forward Party says no decision has been made yet on whether or not MFP will back Srettha Thavisin for PM. The Pheu Thai Party has decided to enter into a coalition with the Bhumjaithai Party, with both parties agreeing to nominate Srettha, a former real estate tycoon, for the top job. Pheu Thai is also courting additional parties from the former coalition in a move that will bolster its majority in the lower house whilst, at the same time, infuriating its supporters. Pheu Thai said after the election it would never be in a coalition with the “uncle parties”, referring to the military-backed conservative parties with Gen Prawit Wongsuwan and Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha in charge. If MFP were to back the election of Srettha as the new Thai PM it would be seen as “in good faith” but, in reality, the new Pheu Thai coalition and Senators would have enough votes without Move Forward’s support. Tom H Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Well, I can count to 237 with this new 8 party coalition. OK, the senators might vote up to 376 but where is the majority in parliament with over 250 in the day to day business? Maybe a ninth party will join later:) and an amnesty for Thaksin in exchange…. In case the senators wont vote and MF is neutral more or less——> Anutins time coming

Popular Post Dogmatix Posted August 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2023 Why should MFP vote for Srettha after being booted into the opposition? Srettha’s ethical issues over tax are a good enough reason to ditch him, apart from anything else. Then we can revisit Ung Ing’s alleged cheating in the exam to get into Chula - not the sharpest tool in the shed that one. 1 2 2

Where is the good faith for the Thai People? 2
