Ayutthaya Highway Patrol apprehended a covert operation trafficking foreign laborers. A 16-year-old boy, the car's driver, was caught stealing his father's vehicle to transport Burmese workers, purportedly for a fee of 15,000 Baht ($500 USD) per head.

On August 23, police monitored a suspected route, discovering a suspiciously heavy Isuzu MU-X with license plate "ขค 9310 พิษณุโลก" on road 347 from Bang Pa-In to Pathum Thani. Upon signaling the driver to stop, he attempted escape but was captured. Inside the car, they found 16-year-old 'E' driving and 14 Burmese nationals, aged between 16 and 35, hiding in the back seat.

Upon questioning through a Burmese interpreter, the individuals admitted illegal entry via the Mae Nam Maei River. They intended to find work in Thailand after paying a broker 30,000 Baht ($1,000 USD) each for entry.

The police arrested the young driver for human trafficking, stating that those who illegally aid foreigners could face charges of sheltering, hiding, or disregarding safety, reported Daily News.

The investigation unfolds as authorities build a case against the teen and prepare charges against the undocumented foreign workers, reported Daily News.
