August 24, 20232 yr Popular Post Add together Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand and you have a very unsavoury bunch who no doubt have common values that benefit those in power while the regular folk get shot, disappeared and economically shafted. Three wise monkeys!
August 24, 20232 yr This one is classic. A man who was appointed through shifty maneuvers by the army, the PT and who knows who else, is going to develop close ties with a former Khmer Rouge officer, who has been a land grabbing, multi billionaire, despot dictator of a neighboring nation disguised as a democracy. This is rich. Edited August 24, 20232 yr by spidermike007

Yer its rather unique, Since 1993, the King of Cambodia has been an elected monarch--so no royal family and he is just a figure head---no power. He is King Norodom Sihamoni the son of the former king.

Like Thailand, Cambodia is a Constitutional Monarchy where Royal Decrees are issued. The PM's of both countries are "in control". For reference:- King Norodom Sihamoni has appointed former National Assembly President Heng Samrin, former Prime Minister Hun Sen, former Interior Minister Sar Kheng, former Defence Minister Tea Banh and former Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations Men Sam An as members of the Supreme Privy Council of the King. https://www.khmertimeskh.com/501347410/hun-sen-made-privy-council-president/
