webfact
SAMUT SAKHON - A ten-wheel truck crashed, flipped, and landed on top of a sedan on the Yakkarad-Bang Tohrat Road, Mu 3, Bang Tohrat, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon, miraculously sparing six lives. It is believed that their safety can be attributed to the sacred amulet worn by the driver, widely regarded as 'The Most Holy Monk' from Wat Ka Long, reported Daily News. At 11:40 AM on September 24, the Samut Sakhon police received a report of the accident. Upon arrival, they discovered a white Isuzu ten-wheel truck, with license plate 70-9951 from Kanchanaburi, carrying a load of compressed paper, had flipped onto a Honda sedan, license plate GW-5375 from Phitsanulok. The impact shattered the sedan's windshield. Picture: Daily News According to the sedan driver's wife, Mr. Sarayuth Teekoon, 38 years old, was driving the vehicle with his family of four. They had been following their route along Rama II Road when they reached the accident site. Seeing the truck about to overturn, Mr. Sarayuth stopped the car, and moments later, the truck landed on their vehicle. Fortunately, everyone survived, shocked but unharmed, attributing their safety to the protective amulet from Wat Ka Long. When questioned about 'The Most Holy Monk,' authorities could not confirm whether it was the renowned 17th generation amulet known as the 'Tiger Fang' or the later 'Crocodile's Tooth' from 2019, both highly sought-after in the collector's market, often valued in six figures. Picture: Daily News The ten-wheel truck driver, Mr. Samreng Homhuern, 62 years old, shared that he was transporting an 11-ton load of compressed paper from Rama II Road. He sensed brake problems as he continued driving and decided to pull over at the accident site, avoiding two vehicles in front of him. Due to brake malfunctions, the truck flipped over and had a collision with the sedan. Authorities are presently engaged in an ongoing examination of the incident. Bangkok Barry
It's probably quite difficult to overturn a 10-wheel lorry. I don't know as I've never tried it. But Thai drivers do seem to have a remarkable talent for it. I've had three overturn within 300 metres of my house, including one in a ditch right outside. But there's always a tractor or crane handy nearby to sort it out, probably because such events are expected. 1
