Police ready for PDRC threat to enter Police Hospital to check on Thaksin

The Royal Thai Police are on high alert as the Reform Coalition threatens to inspect the 14th floor of the Police Hospital where Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister, is undergoing treatment outside prison.

This comes after suspicions arose regarding his intentions to extend his treatment period outside incarceration, reported Thai Rath.

On October 19, a National Police spokesperson revealed that the National Police Chief ordered a review of Thaksin’s case after photos emerged of him on a hospital gurney.

With only 60 days allowed for outside treatment, there are suspicions that this may be a ploy to extend his stay beyond this period. The Police Hospital isn’t required to report such cases, maintaining patient confidentiality.

When asked about the Reform Coalition's plans to verify Thaksin’s presence in the hospital, Police Lieutenant General Achan stated that while public inquiries are a right, they must adhere to legal protocols and respect the rights of other patients. The hospital has designated officers to handle complaints and answer queries.

As for whether the coalition’s proposed inspection is legal or if additional security personnel are needed, Achan confirmed ongoing assessments to prepare for subsequent actions, ensuring public safety and legal compliance.

The Royal Thai Police continues to collaborate with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice in overseeing the overall situation, emphasizing that patient care remains the hospital’s responsibility.

It's pretty obvious what is going on there, even without a visit, just ask Blind Freddy! 🙄

So he might not even be in the hospital anymore? So he is either a healthy person receiving "treatment " in the hospital, or they surreptitiously whisked him off to  some secret luxury suite.

That wasn't a claim made in the OP.

Not explicitly, but "verify his presence in the hospital " means that at least this group has some doubts about his whereabouts.

And if he is in the royal suite at the police hospital:

- What specific treatment is he receiving and what's the timeline for the medication/treatment?

- What security arrangements are inplace 24/7 outside of his room to ensure he doesn't abscond and is not  kidnapped?

Jeez, this group are screaming out for attention. Have they no other more important windmills to tilt at?

Mind you, if he is reliant on the police for his personal protection he is stuffed!

It is obvious Thaksin has made a deal with somebody of power. I am not going to suggest who but you can guess.
