Everybody says Thais don't like it when you complain...

but have you ever taken a look inside a thais only Line group, say for a housing project or condo community group?

My god.

I've never seen such petty arguing/complaining/bickering in all my life!

They will literally complain about anything

the smaller the issue the bigger they blow it out of proportion it seems.

there was a woman on there this morning threatening to call the police over a banana skin that had been left outside her front door!

The language she was using was so colorful I had to reach for my shades!!

So it seems that Thais don't like it when farangs complain,

but for them they can complain to high heaven.

it also seems that complaints here are handled differently.

A Thai will never tell you straight to your face, but will talk about you all day belong behind your back..

They are the biggest grasses i've ever come across.

double standards much?

Complaining on Line/line is easy......Thais won't do it face to face......unless they come 'prepared' .

are you saying that Thai people are incapable of thinking on their feet?

We've complained to the bastards next door about cocky the cockerel making a racket while they are out at work, promise it will be gone by the next holiday. I know it pissed others off but they 'don't want fighting'  and put up with it. Lucky the Mrs is not like that.

So you are fluent in Thai and can read and understand the written messages?

We decided not to join the Line group before we moved in as we felt and experienced the warring tensions prior, I think 99% of others are in it though. e.g. neighbor slagging off developer, developer asking what the neighbor said, developer giving their side of the story, another neighbor telling us not happy about this and that allegedly everyone in group complaining (turns out not so) and so on..  There was one instance where the developer told us someone was complaining about me on the line group, think I drilled for literally 2 minutes during a quite period on Saturday morning just three wall screws, against a backdrop of nearby louder noise anyway.

Don't participate in their gossip little community groups,  nothing good comes of joining a battle that you have no interest in...

Yes, this is one of the things i like about the Thais. Their lives are so much harder than ours but you dont hear them carrying on like whining snowflakes.

It is the main reason I dont like being around English people, many who never seem to happy unless they are complaining about something or other.

They bring the whole mood of a good situation completely down. And in times of adversity they make everything worse with the constant whining. As if it helps in some way?

Thais on the other hand can just soldier on with a big smile.

good people the Thais

Complaining does seem futile here, if food turns up wrong just eat it anyway. I complained to Pattaya City Hall after a dog bite, met the top guy in relevant department, feigned interest and did F all

Absolutely, not like this Aussie beaut!🫣

Of course, they don't like it. They like to pretend that Thailand is beyond criticism. The Chinese are even worse in that respect.

Yes, we have a group of 7 or 8 who are constantly whingeing about very minor details. I call it the Whine LINE. Their comments are rather like those I imagine are made by schoolgirls about their classmates, teachers etc, (and I'm probably being unkind to schoolgirls). I have discouraged our manager from participating, because however he responds, they are encouraged by those responses to double down. It is important that he follows the chatter, but not participate in it. Sure enough, ignoring it seems to make it die down. I am on the board of the condo, so I get informed. The magnificent 7 (or eight) wouldn't lift a finger to improve the condo for the good of ALL residents, but boy, they love to complain when the management makes changes designed to do just that. And these people are rich, (dare one call them HiSo?), but devoid of any grace or thoughtfulness.

Most Thai people are like school children. Mentally I mean.
