But if they did alcohol dependency issues they could just stock up from 7/11 the day before....so what's the point of closing everything other than kill some much needed bar income?
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post It's just another day in Thailand where Thais claim to be devout Buddhists, could you image the drop in the crime rate if Thais practiced what they preached. No wife beatings, no booze, no talking bad about other people, no scamming, just to name a few things. Let the Buddist do their thing and let others do what see fit do do as long as it's legai.
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post They will do it the brit pub style...get drunk beforehand and end up fully wasted by 11pm...cheeers mate ! 🤣

Perhaps it is those noisy bars, with scantily dressed ladies and drunks that the devout Buddhists find upsetting on one of their more devout days?
October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post I believe the party that was voted in power, then had it stolen, was going to scrap these stupid bans. I have said it before, and will say again. In our village the mama papa shop owner told me ( through my Wife), that when the government pays all his bills they can tell him when to sell beer.

October 27, 20232 yr Popular Post Sunday is a huge day up in Buriram with the last day of MotoGP, when thousands of visitors/tourists will be watching. Alas no beer! Does the government want tourists or not?
October 27, 20232 yr If people are determined to get wasted on a day when alcohol is banned, why don't they simply stock up on their favorite tipple one or two days before? Does alcohol kill so many brain cells they can't plan ahead?

October 27, 20232 yr Many parties happen on this day. It's traditional for young men to ordain during the Lent and they want to party. There are also many alcoholics that go to the temple as they don't know any other cure.

This is as silly as saying Brits claim to devout Christians when they get drunk at Xmas parties. Why do you live in a country if you hate the people so much?

October 27, 20232 yr Most bars will start serving a few hours early anyways - but most won't be serving during the day.

Sorry, it makes no sense. A lot of bars are open and serving at 9 and 10 in NANA. What a lot of them do is look at it as a chance to actually go home early for a change.
