The National Anti-Corruption Commission has set up a committee to study the government's 10,000-baht digital currency handout scheme.


It will study and analyze the scheme, then produce measures to prevent any potential policy-oriented corruption.
The Deputy Finance Minister said the handout may face a delay and a reduction in scope as it will only cover the poor. 

 

Prime Minister Thavisin has pledged to push through the marriage equality bill which aims to allow a marriage to be registered regardless of gender.         


The current code only recognises marriage between a man and a woman.


Two other bills focus would allow transgender people to amend their gender in their official identity documents. A third bill would legalise prostitution.

 

The Foreign Affairs Minister discussed the possibility of reviving meetings aimed at increasing the amount of investments between Thailand and Vietnam yesterday during a meeting with the Vietnamese Prime Minister.  His trip marks 10 years of strategic partnership. 


Two Laotian women  aged 38, and 50,  were arrested at their homes in Chiang Rai for alleged human trafficking yesterday.


Their arrests follow a complaint  in 2021 by three Thai women, who sought assistance from an anti trafficking group, after they were promised jobs and good pay, but were forced into working at a call center to deceive victims into investing into fraudulent funds. The 3 victims were rescued by Thai and Laotian authorities.
