2 Entry Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

i got a (60 day) tourist visa in LA prior to my upcoming thailand trip. i paid an extra $30 for an additional entry. on the visa itself it says 2 entries. my question: does this mean i can enter twice within 60 days or does it mean i can leave on day 60 and then return for another 60 before the jan 10th 2008 expiration date, effectively making it 2 visas?

thanks,

sting

You can enter twice before the expiration day, each time you will be granted 60days stay.

thanks for the response, that's what i thought. here is a more interesting follow up question if any knows. can i enter thailand with a tourist visa and NOT use one of the entries. in other words, even though i have a tourist visa, can i enter on a 30 day visa exempt stamp instead (i'm a US citizen). the reason: for the first month i'm coming with a friend who wants to enter thailand then go to cambodia then back into thailand. it seems like a waste of a tourist visa to use it on the first entry as we will be leaving about 2 weeks later. seems better to just get a 30 day visa exempt stamp for the first entry and save the visa for the return from cambodia when i will actually stay 60 days, but i don't know if this is allowed??

thanks

It depends on the Officer on Duty if he/she will accept your request.

dont try it! I asked for an entry not to be used on a triple tourist. The officer said no problem and had me initial that I chose not to use the entry. Upon my next return to Thailand, I discovered that the entry I wanted to save was negated. dont do it
