webfact Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Efforts are underway to secure the release of 23 Thai nationals currently held captive by Hamas militants, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin reassured the public on Monday. He affirmed their safety following confirmation from Gen Songwit Noonpakdee, the chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin shed light on the situation on November 6 when he mentioned receiving assurances from Gen Songwit the previous evening that all 23 Thai hostages were safe. The high-ranking military officer had viewed images of the hostages, confirming to the Thai prime minister their wellbeing. Gen Songwit is currently involved in negotiations with Hamas through Malaysia, aiming to secure the release of the Thai captives. His hope is to establish a ceasefire that could last one or two days. This temporary suspension of military activity would provide an opportunity for the Thai captives to be safely escorted out of the Gaza Strip. by Top Photo courtesy of IVAO Thailand Division Full story: The Thaiger 2023-11-07 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. It may come as a shock, but the situation in the south is not exactly major news around the world. Met more than one Muslim who had no idea that there were Muslims in Thailand, never mind the south. Edit: Even if they were that aware, it doesn't follow that they'd feel that strongly about it.
