The government will introduce a new debt relief package for several groups, including former students, teachers, and small- to medium-size business owners.  This will be followed by a further debt relief package to address major financial difficulties faced by other groups.

 

Police have charged a business man Mr Praween, his seven associates and 21 police in connection with the murder of a highway policeman at his house party in Nakhon Pathom on Sept 6. 


The officer was killed at Mr Praween's house during a dispute over a promotion of another officer who was the shooter's nephew. 


Mr Praween surrendered to police the following day, while the shooter Mr Thanan-chai was killed during a gunfight with police in Kanchanaburi. 

 

The government is seeking to tighten control over the cannabis industry, by rewriting the draft bill to prevent its misuse.


The idea is to plug loopholes that allow marijuana to be used for recreational purposes, and introduce new protocols for cultivation and revised criminal penalties,  thousands of businesses that opened since cannabis was decriminalized have faced uncertainty over legal issues.


It was not clear whether the government would go as far as banning recreational use.

 

A 65 year old man was killed and four houses severely damaged after the mans homemade fireworks exploded in Chiang mai yesterday. The man would produce fireworks for local events, his wife had previously asked him to stop but he refused.
