A thief ran over a homeowner with his car and killed him on the road in the central province of Saraburi yesterday, November 14, before fleeing with the stolen goods.

Phra Putthabat Police Station officers rushed to investigate the death of a 36 year old Thai man named Charoen Katemongkut at around 9am yesterday. Charoen was found dead by the roadside about 1 kilometre from his home.

Charoen had scratches all over his body, blood coming from his mouth and nose and car tyre marks were found on his stomach. Officers found an empty holster hanging from his jeans, but no weapon was found in the area.

Charoen’s father, 60 year old Samroeng Katemongkut, told police that he witnessed the whole incident. A thief had stolen an air conditioning compressor, a solar panel and other electrical appliances from Charoen’s house.
