Trump widens lead over Biden to 4 points in national survey

Former President Trump widened his lead against President Biden to 4 points in a hypothetical 2024 presidential match-up, according to a new poll.

The Emerson College Polling survey, released Wednesday, shows Trump holding on to his 47 percent support, while Biden’s fell from 45 to 43 percent. About 10 percent of voters in the poll were undecided.

The survey also found that if a third-party candidate were added to the hypothetical situation — such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West or Jill Stein — support for both Trump and Biden fell and the amount of undecided voters increased.

Biden’s dip in support is notable because at this time last year, he was leading Trump, Emerson College said in its report. The most significant decrease in backing for the president came from female voters.

“Last November, Biden led Trump by 4 points, whereas this November, he trails Trump by 4,” said Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College Polling. “Several key groups have shifted in the past year: Biden led at this time last year among women by 7 points, which has reduced to a point this year.”

The survey also found that Biden lost support from voters of color. Among Black voters, Biden lost 15 points, and among Hispanic or Latino voters, he lost 11 points.

The president also lost 13 points from voters under the age of 50, and he’s down 16 points among four-year college graduates, the pollsters found.

Generally, voters say they are excited about the 2024 presidential election. Only 36 percent said they were not.

Kennedy is a Democrat, but analysts believe that with some of his bizarre views, he could appeal equally to or more to the Republican voters.

  • You better hope so. Although I fear things will only get worse for Biden as his mental deterioration continues and the endless trials against Trump keep him in the media spotlight and doing what he do

Welcome back!

If the Kennedy fella comes in he could take some of the Dem vote then Trump will be a shoe-in.

Kennedy Jr. supports issuing reparations to the black community, making him the most prominent 2024 candidate to favor the controversial policy meant to atone for slavery and legal segregation. President Biden has largely been silent on the issue, leading to frustration among the far left.

One of his many eclectic views. He also thinks covid was largely a hoax, and pushes a number of other conspiracy theories.

Polls at this point are meaningless.

Europe is starting to prepare for a Trump win and reading a lot of articles in broadsheets saying it won't be bad as last time. There will be a team of Republican adults around him who will drive policy and he will be allowed to grandstand and preen without damaging too much. Putin will be happy though.

But Morning Joe is right to worry. Trump has said that he would be the “retribution” for the thousands of people caught up in the Biden administration’s messes. There would be no executions, Joe, but there would be plenty of payback. For many of us, however, that would be a consummation devoutly to be wished. It can’t come soon enough.

But the key point is this: whether you loathe or love Trump, do not underestimate him. He really could win in 2024. Until then, anyone watching, living or investing in the US should watch that Agenda47 website. Especially if it leaves you horrified — and worrying about new variants of “treason and plot”.

October 26, 2016 5:49 PM EDT. Hillary Clinton has widened her lead over Donald Trump, polling 14 percentage points ahead nationally, according to a new Associated Press-GfK

The election is less than a year off and a lot can happen.  But what's interesting - and I think significant - is if you look at 2016 and 2020, Trump never once touched 46% support during either campaign. He's currently at 47.2%

Stick the fork in Biden, he's DONE. Everyone knows it except him

Joe Manchin could really give both candidates a good run if he decides to go third party.

Now there’s the spoiler he certainly could inflict another trump (disaster) on our country and welcome back!I’ve missed the forum!

Biden for the sake of the US and the world should gracefully retire along with Harris and appoint a candidate who can speak in long sentences, smile, looks good is at least 20 years younger and they will walk it. Trump's worst nightmare is Biden going.

That's the significant statistic.

I expect a lot of that is because of Biden's grovelling to netanyahu and his apparent inability to use his influence to stop the slaughter in Gaza.

Few things excite me in this rotten world anymore, but seeing Biden, Harris and a few more Democrats given the order of the boot, and the wailing and tears from the snowflakes will be sufficient.

I would prefer it to be to some more sensible politician than Trump, but if it has to be him to put the hammer to the Dems, so be it.

and a lot of people agree with him.

Not about the disease per se, but about the governments that used it to become "dictators" for a couple of years, till it became too difficult to keep the, IMO, charade going.

It's pretty much in the same category as flu now, and loads of people die with flu, but it was never used to lock people up and destroy businesses like the covid <deleted> was.

Maybe Joe should quit politics and go back to playing music? He was great on the banjo in that movie Deliverance.

Good one with the Deliverance quip!

I hope Joe sticks it out to the bitter end as he's the single best hope for a GOP win, whoever the candidate is.

Unfortunately it's looking unlikely he'll still be mentally fit to be standing again, if his recent tv appearances are anything to go by. He just looks so old and decrepit, not to mention losing respect as IMO netanyahu makes a fool of him over and over. He just doesn't look like the leader of the free world ( whatever that is ).

He upset the snowflakes, so indeed not a total disaster. Actually Trump did a lot of good things, but the MSM that hates him will never allow it to be widely acknowledged.

If nothing else, for 4 years US boys didn't get sent to die in yet another American war as Trump DIDN'T START ANY WARS. For that he should be thanked by everyone that didn't die in that time.

Unfortunately, Biden sending not one, but 2 carrier strike groups is looking like it may lead to some unpleasant action sometime in the not too distant future, as Iran isn't bending over for Biden. After all, what is the point of all that expensive hardware if it's not used to go kill a lot of people?

One problem Trump attempted to address is border security.  Biden immediately reversed Trump's immigration policies and look at where we are today.  Sanctuary cities, like New York are being overrun by illegal immigrants leading to a fiscal crisis.  Blacks are demonstrating in Chicago with complaints of reduced aid for minorities in order to pay for helping illegals that have flooded the city.

One wonders if Biden still has enough self awareness to understand that cancelling the wall was not a good idea, but one thinks he doesn't.

Wasn't Harris supposed to fix the problem? What happened to that?

Ok I will bite, just what did trump ACCOMPLISH that was good for America and our people?and last time I looked president Biden hasent started any wars but has provided help to Ukraine when asked so they can repel a viscous raping looting invader nor is president Biden sending 2 carrier task force groups to the med to protect our allies flanks starting a war .to a rational American it seems Biden is behaving correctly by not abandoning an ally when they suffered a horrific terrorist attack that slaughtered women and children.nor abandoning a fledgling nation in her time of need

Most likely he’s governing doing the business of guiding the most powerful country on the planet as far as the border that will require legislation the dems are ready the retrumplikans refuse to participate

I wonder the same thing as him. Half of America wonders about his capabilities. He's too old. Nobody has confidence in him.

The fact that the politically motivated trials against Trump are inadvertantly giving him the platform to address the electorate was a bad mistake by whoever is pulling Biden's strings.
