A 68-year-old man in Thailand voiced his fears after a notorious wild elephant, known for its stubborn and hefty size, wreaked havoc in his village.

The elephant, has caused significant damage, demolishing houses, resting areas, and agricultural fields, including rice drying yards, reported Daily News.

On November 24th, Tharapthawee Kulsari, the village head of Tha Kradan, dispatched a team to assist the villagers following reports of the elephant's intrusion.

The team coordinated with military personnel for aid and surveillance. The initial site of destruction was a lodging area ravaged by the elephant, which had previously caused panic among villagers and workers due to its large size and unruly behavior.

Phila Kaewkanha, 68, reported to the authorities that the same elephant destroyed his crops, including bananas, coconuts, and cassava fields, situated less than 300 meters away.

He expressed his concerns for safety and the loss of his crops, questioning his ability to cope with the aftermath.

Recently, Ronnangon Janlerth, the head of the local elephant surveillance team, along with other officials, used drones to locate a group of 3-6 elephants in a nearby eucalyptus forest.

They are planning to drive the troublesome elephant back to its natural habitat in collaboration with the wildlife protection authorities.

Meanwhile, the village head Tharapthawee Kulsari is assessing the damage and preparing for immediate relief and support for the affected villagers.
