The cabinet is expected to order a review of the new daily minimum wage today however employers businesses have urged the government to respect the decision made by a committee that set the new rise to between 2 and 16 baht per hour.

The PM has said the new rate is too low, while the minister for labour said he has no authority to adjust the proposed rates and will ask the cabinet to consider ordering the review. 

 

Prime Minister Thavisin is due to travel to Japan this weekend to meet top automakers and to support their transition to establishing the manufacture of electric vehicles in Thailand.

The visit will focus on attracting more investments and offering better incentives.

 

Marine police raided and seized a fishing boat, it’s a net, and approximately 100 kilogrammes of anchovies off the coast of phuket yesterday.  

The 42 year old captain of the boat, admitted to fishing illegally and was taken in for questioning.

 

Non Thai outbound travelers will be able to use automated channels for passport checks at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhum airport starting on Friday.
