The Cabinet has approved to waive visa requirements for Japanese business travelers entering Thailand for short-term business trips, meanwhile prime minister Thavasin met Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio in Tokyo yesterday during a 5 day visit to encourage japanese investment in thailand. 

 

Criminal charges were filed against a Senator yesterday, he’s accused  of colluding in money laundering and assisting a transnational drugs organisation. 


He had earlier been accused of laundering drug money through an electricity supply business operating on the Thai-Myanmar border. The Senator denied all 6 charges filed against him.

 

Police Raided  two properties near Rama3 Rd and arrested the head of an e-cigarette distribution network.
The two sites had been used to store and distribute e-cigarettes and liquids, 


which were sold via a Facebook account, around 70 thousand e-cigarettes were seized, it’s believed the network had generated around 100 million baht.

 

The deputy transport minister yesterday announced the Nong Khai to Vientiane section of the Thai-China high-speed rail project is expected to be completed in 2028, the final plans for the route will be selected next year and construction is due to begin in 2025 at a cost of 3 billion baht.


The line will eventually link Nong Kai to Bangkok a distance of just over 600 kilometers.

China,  Beijing announced it had mediated a temporary ceasefire in fighting between the Myanmar junta and ethnic minority armed groups in the north of the country close to the Chinese border.


Clashes have raged across Myanmar's northern Shan state since 3 ethnic groups launched an offensive in October.
