Yesterday, a serious road accident occurred in Phayao province in northern Thailand, leading to a police officer being critically injured. The accident occurred when a 10-wheeled truck lost control due to brake failure, colliding with a checkpoint and hitting the officer.

The truck, driven by 62 year old Chum, was travelling from Wang Nuea district in Lampang province towards the Mae Ka intersection in Phayao’s Mueang district. At approximately 6.25pm, as the truck approached the checkpoint located near the Agricultural Technology College on the Phayao-Wang Nuea road, the brakes failed. Unable to stop, the truck hit a traffic light, the checkpoint, and collided with Police Lance Corporal Nattanai Arayakul, who was on duty at the time.

The impact of the collision left Nattanai critically injured, and unconscious with multiple brain bleeds. Emergency services rushed him to Phayao University Hospital. Additionally, a passing Isuzu car suffered damage to its rearview mirror on the driver’s side, reported KhaoSod.

Land of Smiles my ***! Land of Failing Brakes!.... Maintainance....Helloooo! :whistling:

Isn’t it funny they always blame the brakes here TIT

So let's stand in the middle of a darkened road in dark clothes and see if we can also get hit by a moving vehicle.

Police showing their total lack of critical thinking.

what about the rear view mirror is that more important than human life

same brake failure is bad maintenance service or a quick sleep cos drive long hours no stops

it is always  play with life on these roads

hopefully the duty policeman pulls through

More Brake failure, It must be high time to hold those Truck building companies responsible  for  making such dodgy brakes.

Or maybe I am wrong ,It may just be Dodgy Drivers.

Do they ever check the brakes after all this brake failures? Or they just beleive the drivers?

Has the RTP never heard of reflective vests, especially at night.

Now, that is an interesting detail. I hope the driver survived.

If the truck owner and driver both had to face manslaugher charges after each and every 'brake failure' they might consider maintenance and keeping awake.  As it is 'beake failure' is a convenient excuse,so nobody is to blame TIT

Air brakes on the truck I assume.  Brake failure smells fishy.

Actually, nothing "fishy" about it.  We witnessed a serious accident very near our home.  A lorry rear-ended a motorcycle in the early evening.  Brake failure, the driver said.  Since we knew him, asked.  On mobile.

No action by the brown man.

Did he pass the traffic stop?

Vehicle manufacturers must make special models for Thailand with inferior brakes.

Brake failure my arris' it is the driver unable to stop in time because of nap time , facebook , pished , or just plain doziness.

Rear view mirror is inside the vehicle , mirrors on the side are called driving mirrors.
