BANGKOK, Dec 18 (TNA) – The Ministry of Energy has collaborated with various organizations to tackle the problem of PM 2.5 and enforce strict controls on black smoke emissions from vehicles.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Peeraphan Salirathaviphak stated that collaboration is essential to reduce the small particulate matter PM 2.5 from vehicles.

Acknowledging that trucks contribute to 70% of the particulate matter in Bangkok, the ministry is partnering with the police to intensify inspections of black smoke emissions.

Try investigating the millions of crumbling concrete structures and buildings that shed particles daily, the thousands of construction sites that pollute the air, and the lack of cleanliness and general cleaning of roads/streets etc.

No mention of the amount of particulates that come from car and lorry tyres. Recent research shows little difference in pollution between EVs and petrol/ diesel fuelled cars  - turns out its the tread on the tyres wearing off grain by grain that does the real damage...

From the linked article:

Additionally, the ministry is actively promoting the use of electric trucks to reduce transportation costs and address dust-related issues.

This I have to see. How may truck agencies in the Kingdom offer an all electric version of a 10 wheel truck?

Joining hands is about all that will be accomplished.  We've seen these same articles for years.  Crackdown on this.  Crackdown on that.  No will to actually get anything useful done--by any agency.

Dear PM 2.5,

Please stop floating in the air, it's against the law.

Sincerely,
