Cyber police arrested two Thai men for creating nude images of more than 30 Thai celebrities with an artificial intelligence (AI) program and selling them on a Russia-based social media application, Vkontakte, also known as VK.

Two female Thai actresses, Panadda Wongphudee, Known as Bum, and Sakuntala Tianpairoj, known as Tonhom, filed complaints with the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) after discovering their edited nude images being shared online. They had never taken the pictures or shared them with anyone, but the images were perfectly edited, destroying their images and reputations.

Bum told the media that a friend shared the edited image with her and convinced her to file a complaint with the police. Bum said more than 30 other Thai actors and actresses fell victim to this criminal, and she wanted them to report the matter to the police for the photo editors to receive proper punishment.

Tonhom said she was one of the victims whose edited explicit images were shared on the VK application. Tonhom had previously come forward to file a complaint against an online gambling website operator who used her picture and video to promote online gambling.

Cyber police conducted a further investigation into the VK account, Please Cut It Off (รบกวนตัดออกให้ที), which shared all the edited nude images. The account had over 120,000 followers and had a private group where members had to pay to see explicit content. As well as editing and selling illegal images, the account also offered an AI photo-editing programme for hire and access to photo-editing lessons provided by the account administrators.

Really?

It's more likely that they will get free publicity and some more minutes in the limelight. That's what celebrities want, or not?

I think this is a standard verbiage when filing a complaint.

But if you think the complaint is somehow unjust, they should alter the images of your mom, so she could gain some publicity and minutes in the limelight,

My mom would likely look a lot better with AI body, especially because she is dead for some years.

MS sexsell.

it must have seemed like a good idea at the time, a money maker,

and sold on Russian website ,who is going to know ,right , now they

are facing charges from the CCIB , who seem to take cyber crimes

seriously , then could be sued by the victim's.

Coming to every man's secret desire- the computer program that will make the female of your choice, do whatever you wish you could do with her, with a virtual you. Only on VDO though.

Wait till virtual reality becomes as good as the real thing; it's going to be a wild ride folks.

What laws did he break?  You can't rape a woman.  Okay.  You can't draw an image of a woman?  Not okay.  Next step for the thought police you can not think of drawing an image of a woman.

I read somewhere that now some people use this kind of software to create AI characters for OnlyFans and make a lot of money with that.

And that obviously only works because there are enough suckers out there who pay for that.

Not saying it's right, but this sorta stuff kinda comes with the territory if your a celebrity; unfortunately, it's also happening to everyday folk, which ain't so cool.

Should get 10 years minimum just for wearing that Man United shirt.

Free publicity like this only works for ageing actresses still craving the limelight.

If you have a good steady TV contract with years in the future this could kill your career.

One could argue that this is similar to drawing a picture of the woman nude in their eyes. I think the only law they could have broken would be if they are making claims it is the real woman nude. However, there is a stupid Thai law now that says you can not take photos of other people haha... or yourself if it shows alcohol with their brand name showing haha.. and post them online. So maybe those boys are in trouble for this.

Why would fake pictures kill a career?

(I really don't know)

Yes, Picasso deserves to be punished. Although his pictures you could hardly recognize who the woman was, or recognize it was indeed a woman!

Many of these women have been putting out faked pics of themselves for years, with enhanced parts, and airbrushed features... now they complain!

It's happening to school girls too. They grab an image off facebook and massage it with AI.

Two creative gentlemen supporting Thialand's move to a digital economy.  I expected a puff piece praising the Ministry of Education for its digital entrepreneurship programs

Yep. Difficult to time your 'run' flipping towards the centrefold, sometimes. Losing control of the pages could mean blowing your wad over the "Exchange & Mart" section.

I find it pretty low, when you need to bring someone's mum  into it... I guess you don't respect your mum.
