Non Imm "0" Visa Run

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I hold a non immigrant "O" multyentry wich is getting closed to my first 90 days expiring.

After i did a search on this forum i was not able to find the answers i needed.

As I'm living in Bangkok, is Poipet my only cheapest choice?

Any other suggestion on how can save some money maybe bring my gf close to a Thai border for a couple of nights?

Do i need any particular documents (such as my UK return ticket)?

Thanks in advance

Moved to the Thai visas and residency forum.

Scouse.

You can go anywhere - by air, bus, train, car or van. Cambodia, Laos, Burma, Malaysia or if by air further afield. All you need to do is cross border, enter other country and then return.

Perhaps a long train ride to Butterworth/Penang with the GF? Or up to Nong Khai/Vientiane? Or a trip to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai and a border trip from there? There are all kinds of possibilities.

If you're really that bad, you can get down to Hat Yai (15-16 hours) on a 3rd class seat for a pittance. Then transfer to a 2nd class seat to the border (Padang Besar) and return. No visa needed.

This is not recommended!! I did this several years ago (only 1 way) and vowed would NEVER even look at a 3rd class carriage again!!

Thanks for the advice,

i was not meaning that but everything include going to Singapore or Malaysia will cost me at least 10,000 bath overall and going to Poipet is not that interesting (apart from casinos) so i was just wondering if there was another way to get a stamp and have a week end off somewhere nice.

MAE SOT, would be a nice choice.

Easy to get a bus from Morchit, stay obernight in Mae Sot , a couple of nice places.

No Mynmar Visa required , just pay THB 500.- for the process at the border.

That could be a solution, do you have any more info (like journey trip from Bkk, prices and so on...) please?

Or any other places going to the south, perhaps stopping by in Rayong?

Thanks to all

About 8 hours. You can go direct or via Tak. Bus fares will be higher than indicated on website I believe due to cost of fuel. Spelling is Mai Sod on schedule.
