webfact
The Department of Commerce in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province has issued an advisory for motorists to closely monitor fuel dispensers before refueling. This comes after allegations of consumers not receiving the full liter of fuel they paid for. On December 22, 2023, Air Chief Marshal Sekson Chanthara of the Anti-Corruption Citizen Network in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province addressed a grievance lodged by Mr. Somchit Ngui Gai, a 62-year-old rubber plantation owner from Ao Noi Sub-district, Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan District. Mr. Somchit reported that during visits to a fuel station on Phetkasem Road, near Ko Lak Sub-district, on December 21 and 22, his 5-liter fuel container consistently fell short by half a liter. This claim was supported by photographic evidence. Following the complaint, Air Chief Marshal Sekson Chanthara accompanied Mr. Somchit to the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Commerce Office to officially file the issue. KhunLA
Another plus for having an EV, hopefully. Easy to tell what paid for is what was received, and no worry about getting the incorrect change, as no other humans involved in the transaction. Need to pay attention, sadly. Not short changed on the gauge, but all scams. I remember in very early days of 'topping up' the Vios, and apparently the attendant didn't clear a previous sale, before topping me up. "That will be 600 baht" "I don't think so slick, as this car doesn't hold 600 baht worth of petrol, unless I was running on fumes" I figured there was 100 on the pump already, and think I was generous. "here's 500 and I call the PoPo". Have a nice day. After that, paid attention to Liters & change. Edited December 23, 2023 by KhunLA
Popular Post spidermike007
It's always a good idea. I've been doing this for many years, I always check to make sure that the meter is on zero before they start pumping. This scam has existed for decades all over the world. 1 1

PETERTHEEATER
But then how often are pump dispensers calibrated? About as often as the air pressure gauges of fuel station tyre pumps and the weigh scales in the local markets.......🙄

This is not about pump attendants not resetting the pump to zero although that is always a valid concern and the frequent source of scams. This issue is about altered or uncalibrated metering at the pump, the meter is set to zero and appears to deliver a full amount but doesn't.
