A Thai woman is looking for her four lost lottery tickets that won the 24 million baht jackpot in October two months ago. She asked the Government Lottery Office (GLO) to investigate because she wrote her name and phone number on the back of the tickets.

The 59 year old woman, Monta Ekwittayopart, sought help from a non-profit organisation Reclaim Justice Network after losing the winning tickets for about two months. Monta revealed that she had been looking for evidence of the loss all this time before seeking help.

Monta explained that she bought four lottery tickets number 931446 on October 13 and found herself as a lottery winner on October 16. She planned to go to the GLO to claim the money of 24 million baht, 6 million baht each, but could not find her tickets.

Monta added that she remembered the numbers she bought because it was her lucky number. She bought the same numbers almost every time and was sure that she won the tickets. She said she even remembered the vendor who sold her the tickets.

Sure, she claims.  Seems suspicious if you won and didn’t keep it in a safe place.

is that news? Come on Snoop Tell us what you wife cooked today

What is they've got with lucky numbers?

Time to update the system with electronic recording of ticket purchases like they have in Western lotteries.

They can even check for winners and notify them automatically.

I have never bought a Thai lottery ticket, so I may be wrong, but I didn't think that you could choose particular numbers, I thought that you could only buy what numbers the vendor has available. If that IS the case it would make it nearly impossible to find the numbers 931446 almost every time!

Somewhat unusual to have a set of 4 tickets.  I don't recall ever seeing them sold as a set of 4.  Mostly see, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15.

Not sure I believe the lady!

Electronic purchasing and recording of tickets would cut-out all the corruption, skimming  and employment for many.

Thailand has to do it the old school way with thousands of vendors, and Pretties on the TV doing a choreographed show-price bring happiness to the people.

I'm sure I won the US powerball last tuesday ....     I'm sure but I can't find my entry anywhere .....

I'll have to tell the Powerball agency I'm sure I won so I can get my money

Good luck with that, I contacted them yesterday and advised that I'd lost my ticket and requested my money to be paid into my account.

Buyers can select the number they want to buy "Online" so it is possible to do this.

And my wife, a keen lottery ticket buyer confirms what @loong said above:

It's always a major bummer when you finally win the lottery and you discover that you've lost your tickets.

Of course this is never happened to me, I've never won anything in my life, but I would imagine it would be quite distressing.

Perhaps she could use her tickets from a previous lottery....if she can find them !

If this is true it would be sad !

I think any lottery company have the same rule,no ticket no jackpot. You can say what u want but no ticket means no money
