Here we go. Mega MAGA Mess is coming. Is SS, MediCare etc gone... soon?
My girlfriend and I frequently talk about people not taking care of themselves with their poor eating habits. We also agree that our tax dollars should not go to buying junk food for SNAP recipients. She has excellent, company-paid health insurance through her employer and me with Medicare and Tricare. -

Whistleblower Alleges Normalized Anti-Semitism at the BBC
Anyone who criticizes Israeli government policy is NOT automatically called antisemitic. Millions of Jews inside and outside Israel have protested against Netanyahu and they are certainly not antisemites, nor have they been labeled so. Take a look at this link: 2024 Israeli protests https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Israeli_protests The same is true for non-Jews who protest Israeli gvernment policy. They are NOT always called antisemitic. However, some who do protest against Israel are indeed antisemitic and the accusations of antisemitism are true. Old-fashioned raw antisemitism can masquerade as anti-Zionism and it's entirely right to denounce it as such. Where does the line go between anti-Zionism and antisemitism? Basically, if opponents of Israel use "Zionist" as synonym for "Jew," then it's antisemitism. Holding Jews collectively responsible for the actions of the Israeli government is a modern version of the oldest expression of antisemitism, blaming all Jews for the crucifixion of Jesus. This also goes to the heart of the whistleblower's complaints against the BCC. Jewish employees were being harassed because of what is happening in Gaza, although those employees have no influence or direct involvement in the Israeli government's policy. Updating other common antisemitic tropes, such as Jews control governments, international finance, the media, etc. is also antisemitic. The overriding claim that a a small group of Jews wields undue influence is central to antisemitism. It may be unintentional, but several of @pacovl46's comments are troubling: He apparently supports some heavy-duty retributuion against Israel and its citizens. So I have to ask @pacovl46: are you referring to the elimination of the state of Israel and the dispersal of its citizens? What will happen if Israel gets it "big time?" He is positing a plot by Jews to fulfill a hidden agenda he calls "the Israeli big picture." That's classic antisemitism, straight out of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. https://www.britannica.com/topic/Protocols-of-the-Elders-of-Zion The existence of a homeland for the world's Jews is what is "provoking and antagonizing" Hamas and other terrorist groups. Through the years, Israel has taken the steps necessary to defend itself and that has had unfortunate consequences for Palestinians. But to blame Israel for the attacks against its citizens is again classic antisemitism. Picture from responders. Tragedy struck in Mae Ramat District, Tak Province, when a wild elephant in musth fatally attacked a villager in the Khun Huay Khimo forest, located near Ban Huay Krathing. On December 7, local authorities reported that a villager from Ban Huay Krathing, Mae Tuen Subdistrict, Mae Ramat District, was killed by a wild elephant in the forest. Witnesses alerted the village headman and local officials about the incident, which was subsequently reported to Mr. Parinya Sairoj, the District Chief of Mae Ramat. Upon receiving the report, Mr. Parinya directed Mr. Phadungsit Thanboon, the deputy district officer responsible for Mae Tuen Subdistrict, to coordinate with local leaders, including the headmen of Village 12 and Village 6, as well as their deputies and village assistants. Together, they led a team to the scene of the incident. At the location, the team found that the wild elephant had killed a villager identified as Mr. Khodhi, 50 years old, a resident of Mae Tuen Subdistrict. Fire Destroys Auto Repair Shop in Nonthaburi, Burning Five Cars
Picture and video from responders. An auto repair shop in Nonthaburi was engulfed in flames early morning on December 7, destroying five cars and alarming nearby residents with loud explosions and intense fire. The blaze occurred at “Chang Tao Garage,” located in Samakkhi 59 Alley, Tha Sai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi. The fire broke out at around 00:20, prompting police officers from Rattanathibet Police Station, firefighters, and rescue personnel from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation to respond. A total of nine fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. The shop, a two-story structure made of wood and steel, was used as both a residence and a repair shop. When authorities arrived, they found the fire raging, with loud explosions reportedly coming from vehicle tanks, gas cylinders and 200-litre oil barrels stored on the premises. Fumes from thinners and gasoline spread throughout the area, making the scene even more hazardous. It took firefighters over an hour to bring the blaze under control. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported. Ms. Suksawat, a 42-year-old resident living next door to the garage, recounted the terrifying experience. “At first, I thought it was just another loud argument or a gunshot because people drink and party here regularly. But then I heard someone shouting, and when we looked outside, we saw the flames.” Ms. Suksawat quickly gathered her two children and essential belongings, including her husband’s musical instruments, and moved her car away from the danger zone. She described hearing several explosions, including a large initial blast followed by three or four smaller ones, possibly caused by gas or oil canisters. Mr. Narintorn Phokaew, a volunteer from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, explained the challenges firefighters faced. “When we arrived, the fire had already spread throughout the building. We had to use multiple water hose-lines, due to the presence of flammable materials such as thinner, paint, and petrol engine cars. Parts of the building’s structure collapsed during the operation.” The cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short circuit, though investigators will inspect the site to confirm. Officials from the Nonthaburi Provincial Forensic Division will also examine the evidence to determine liability. The extent of the damage is still being assessed, but the fire has left the garage and its contents, including five vehicles, completely destroyed. -- 2024-12-08 ScreenRecording_12-07-2024 13-44-15_1.mp4 -
