Some sort of fungus is infecting many of my garden plants. I had a wooden trellis type thing with a plant I believe to be called ‘Bali string’ growing all over it. It grows almost like spaghetti down towards the ground at an incredible rate. It is not covered in some sort of white fungus and is probably 50% dead. This fungus is now present in some of the other plants and kills any leaf that it inhabits. I know my description is vague, but I wondered if anyone has come across anything similar and what they did. I am having our gardener here in a few days and I will ask for advice, but thought that I would check here in the mean time.

I have these ones in my garden to...started when the dry season set in down here, especially on the hibiscus :o !! Spraying don`t seem to help. Will it eventually kill the plants ?

Have you tried that Neem spray? I can't remember what its called in Thai, but apparently it works quite well. And yes, if it completely takes over your plant it can kill it. One temporary way to get rid of them is with a high powered spray of water.

Is that an insect covered in white stuff? I havn't seen anything like that. I only seem to have what looks like a coating of powder. I will however search for any insects.

Cut a piece of it off and take it your local garden center, they will more than likely know what it is and give you the chemicals to use.

Yes, I agree, something happened with my plants too in my garden and my maid took some leave to a garden shop and they sold a small bottle of some product (don't know the name) that you have to dilute in water and put over the plants once a week. It works perfectly as she saved all. Gook luck !
