BANGKOK, Jan 5 (TNA) – The Pollution Control Department has announced the onset of the dust season and issued a warning for the lower northern and metropolitan areas, urging vigilance from January 5 to 12.

 

Capt. Rachata Phisitbanakorn, Assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, along with Ms. Preeyaporn Suwannakes, Director-General of the Pollution Control Department, declared the commencement of the dust season. They called for all relevant agencies to strengthen control measures and monitor the sources of dust generation.

In the above picture it looks like they have the FIRMS  satellite data as to where the fires are located in Thailand

how hard can it be to match that data to the land registry  and prosecute those land owners for the burning year in year out like clockwork.

They should fine the landowners who's land has been found to have been burnt.

What does “vigilance” mean? look at the map from the office chair ? Or..

Control fires, send patrols and firefighters at the mountain and farms?. Will the police fine farmers and arsonists?

 

 

In my Village, (North CM) is not funny to see People burning their plastics and garbage every days because the garbage truck passes by once a week and they only find remains scattered on the road by stray dogs… Apart, of course, from the burning of corn and rice fields even inside of National Park.

How many 'Seasons' does Thailand have now? Dry, rainy, holiday, burning, dust, cold, hot, summer, spring and winter. According to this story one week is a season.
