HABIN (NNT) - A team from Saowabha Vocational College has triumphed at the prestigious 16th International Collegiate Snow Sculpture Contest in Harbin, China, securing the first prize with their innovative tuk-tuk-themed creation.

 

The winning piece, titled "Tuk Tuk on Tour," artistically displayed an iconic Thai three-wheeler, a symbol of Thailand’s vibrant culture and tradition. The sculpture stood out among entries from various international teams, bringing a slice of Thai life to the snowy fields of Harbin.

 

Adding to Thailand’s accolades, vocational colleges from Surat Thani and Saraburi clinched third place, further promoting the country’s artistic reputation.

 

Suratthani Vocational College’s entry, titled “Human and Nature,” depicted a dramatic scene of environmental disasters impacting human life, reflecting on technology’s role in climate change. Meanwhile, Saraburi Vocational College presented “World of Peace,” featuring doves and roses as a poignant plea for global harmony amid current conflicts.

 

Held at Harbin Engineering University from January 3 - 6, the contest highlighted the potential of vocational students through their artistic skills. The Thai teams competed against peers from China, Russia, Britain, Italy, and Australia. The teams are set to return to Bangkok today (Jan 9), bringing home prizes and diplomas from the four-day event, which concluded on Sunday.
