Former U.S. Social Security head says benefits could be interrupted in 30 to 90 days
That whole claim by Musk and Trump was false and fraudulent, as the OP article by Forbes here explains, and has been detailed by numerous news agencies elsewhere. "Musk had previous sparked concern about his plans for the safety net after he said tens of millions of dead Americans are receiving Social Security checks—a claim the Associated Press debunked. And on Friday, he added to fears when he called Social Security a “Ponzi scheme” and described the federal government as “one big pyramid scheme.” In October, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan watchdog, said Trump’s policies would hasten the demise of Social Security’s trust fund." https://www.fortune.com/2025/03/03/social-security-payments-benefits-interruption-doge-cuts-system-collapse-retirement-disability/ Tens of millions of dead people aren’t getting Social Security checks, despite Trump and Musk claims https://apnews.com/article/social-security-payments-deceased-false-claims-doge-ed2885f5769f368853ac3615b4852cf7#- 1

Could Trump's plan fail in a spectacular fashion?
Disaster Don just announced an increase in the tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum in his insane escalating trade war. Here comes the Trump recession. Trump's tariffs are likely to push up prices on everyday items for US consumers, said John Rogers, an economics professor at American International University. "Prices could go up pretty soon," Rogers warned, though he was reluctant to say by exactly how much or how quickly. "We are in pretty uncharted territory," he told the BBC. Steel and aluminium, "those go into all kinds of other products", Rogers said. "So you protect the US steel industry, but you wind up paying more for steel. "That's going to affect the price of anything that has steel in it - your automobiles, your dishwashers and other appliances, your construction." For Rogers, it was hard to see any upside of a US-Canada trade war. "Everybody's just going to wind up paying higher prices, sacrificing quality, even the American manufacturers, who are going to be presumably the beneficiaries," he said -

Ukraine must cede territory in peace talks, says US
Whatever......the word of the US means nothing and trump and co are SOBs for abandoning Ukraine in their time of need. That the US did not live up to their promise to protect Ukraine back then was bad enough, but they have a chance now to stand up to Putin, but the orange dough boy is not strong enough, nor are his weak acolytes. JFK stood up to Russia and they backed down.......trump has not the spine to do so. In January 1994, the U.S., Russia and Ukraine issued an historic Trilateral Statement that promised security assurances to Ukraine once the START I Treaty entered into force and Ukraine became a non-nuclear weapons state and a party to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty.
