The Department of Transport will send a roadshow on it’s Land Bridge megaproject  to China next month. The idea is to attract potential investment  China’s government has already shown interest in the project following Thailand's meeting with foreign minister Wang Yi last month. A report will be presented to China next week.

 

The Move Forward Party is under threat of dissolution proceedings, following pressure by activists to the election commission on the party's  stance and its attempts to amend the so-called les majeste law.


On Wednesday the court ruled that the party’s push to amend Section 112 was an attempt to overthrow the government and the monarch.


The election commission would then be obliged to petition the Constitutional Court to consider dissolving that party and banning it’s members from running in elections for 10 years.

 

The department of social welfare will forward a bill raising the monthly living allowance for the elderly to 3,000 baht per month.


The current allowance is just 600 baht a month, the increase to 3,000 baht a month is likely to be implemented in stages.

Myanmar’s military rulers extended a state of emergency in place since the 2021 coup as the junta battles to contain a bloody, pro-democracy rebellion that has severely tested its ability to govern.  The junta says the The 6 month extension was needed “to bring the nation to a normal state of stability and peace.
