webfact
Hua Hin Mayor, Nopporn Wutthikul, along with key municipal officials, held a meeting on January 31, 2024, with Pornchai Nusit, the Chief of Hua Hin Railway Station, to discuss the refurbishment of the area surrounding the old Hua Hin Train Station. The meeting aimed at revitalizing the station’s vicinity to become a new landmark and a hub for local economic development. The talks centered on improving the landscape around the station, with the plans involving adorning the area with lights and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the station building, the old steam locomotive, and the surrounding Chamchuree trees. The initiative is designed to preserve the architectural heritage while creating a picturesque spot for photography enthusiasts and visitors. geisha
I think the station is the entrance to Hua Hin, and should be given a lot of good thought. It’s a beautiful station, what they do not need to do is pile a load of thai kitch to spoil it all. Everyone has their photo next to the Hua Hin sign inside. Keep,it smart. If needed , a pretty coffee / tea shop with some authentic cakes/ biscuits/ tarts , which could also sell a few tasteful momentos . I’d rather see that just outside the entrance and nicely done, maybe olde worldly , as is the original station. The problem with Thai ideas is that they copy everything and everywhere. It would be useful in showing foreigners and Thais ( who wouldn’t go inside otherwise) , people arriving and departing. No “ I love Hua Hin” t shirts please.,
my friend I
I passed through a few days ago. There was no one selling food and drinks up on the new station. Just a bottle of water would have been welcome.
