The Defence Ministry announced on Tuesday its intention to pursue legal action against any current or former military members implicated in the illicit trade of Sor Dor 43 certificates.

Conscription, a national duty outlined in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, was initiated in 1905. It mandates military service for all Thai citizens, although in practice, it primarily applies to males over 21 years of age who have not completed reserve training – Wikipedia

Minister Sutin Klungsang issued a stern warning in response to allegations made by Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, a Move Forward Party MP and chairman of the House committee on military affairs, who exposed the sale of counterfeit conscription certificates.

Are you going to investigate and prosecute Abhisit? No thought not, just the poor, and lower middle class kids who want a chance at life without having to wipe a general's backside when he has a dump.

We paid 20k years ago to keep Mrs brother out of the selection. When we went to a display day of new soldiers for another relative there were no BMW, Mercs or other expensive cars parked up, mostly trucks, bikes and the odd Vios etc.

Come on...

Fake knee jerk reaction over 60,000 fake ‘conscription exemption’ certificates

Are Thais never tired of always lying about everything all the time?

No

Another tale as old as time.

People paid good money to the Royal Thai Army for their "exemption".

I bought two, just in case.

I can certainly understand why young Thais would not want to serve in the armed forces here, they're toxic beyond belief, corrupt beyond the reaches of the wildest imagination, and they serve absolutely no function or purpose for society, other than to move the nation backwards.

So this means that it is the poor and lower middle classes that are avoiding conscription and that the wealthy willingly send their sons in for service? I say investigate Abhisit.

Eliminate conscription in favor of a volunteer military. Then such fake certificates become irrelevant.

The government says basically, 'Give us four more years, then conscription all gone due to the military restructure program.'

As former Gen. Prayut said in early 2014, there will be no military coup.

I did my 12 months of SLAVE Labor in my home country... abusive sh.its everywhere

Why two years anyway? this is total BS

9-10 months would be enough. This is the time I did in the French army back in 1993.

And it was useful training.

Conscripts were not used as slaves

This country is so full of sh**t
