OutOfThisWorld Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Right, just come back from KL on a Non-Imm 'B' visa run and thought I might post some interesting info. Firslty, got in touch with Penang and KL by phone enquiring about 'B' visas (At present I have a 3 month B visa and corresponding work permit). Penang said I could get a 1 year multi-entry 'B' Visa, whilst KL said I could only get a 3 month one. Both said, over the phone, that all I would need was: 1. Company Registration 2. Letter from Company detailing name, passport number, position and wage. 3. Photocopy work permit and passport. 4. Original work permit. 5. Photos etc. I went to KL because my passport has less than a year left so I couldn't get a year.....and it was the easiest to get to for me..... However, when I got to KL, I found out two major things: 1. THEY WILL ISSUE 1 YEAR MULTI-ENTRY 'B' VISA'S......with no problems or queries whatsoever. 2. They require more documentation than they said on the phone. In addition, they also require: a. Copy of emploment contract indicating rationale for employing, his/her salery, position, etc. b. Copy of Company's list of shareholders c. Copy of Company's lastest balance sheet d. Copy of Company's registation of Value-added tax e. List of all foreign employees employed by the Company f. Map indicating location of Company Luckily I had these, being a good boy scout!! Finally can anyone answer the following enquiry: I now need to extend my work permit. I also need to get a new passport. What documents do they require in order to extend my work permit.....will a photo copy of my present visa do? What other documents are required? HOw long does this process take? Is there a problem if you try to extend your work permit, after the 'present finish date'? Any help appreciated..... OutOfThisWorld

Big A Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 (edited) As I said in an earlier post a few months ago, take the kitchen sink and its photocopy. It's an awful long way back to Bangkok for an A4 piece of paper in your top drawer!! Edited July 22, 2007 by Big A
