Assets worth around 596.  million baht, which were frozen last December   from a major Chinese gang, looks set to be permanently confiscated by the anti corruption commission. The move was recommended after investigations into the gang's finances showed it had engaged in cryptocurrency scams and money laundering in Thailand and overseas. The commission has until 5th march or 90 days to conclude the asset freeze.


Investigations found almost 3,400 assets worth around 8.7 billion baht, were held by the gang and a number of other people connected with it. 


So far 13 people face charges for being connected with the gang.

 

An opposition MP has called on the government to help Myanmar citizens who are fleeing to Thailand to avoid mandatory military service out of humanitarian concerns. 


They are not sneaking in illegally.  They escape being forced to go to the battlefields to face death or kill other people. 
He urged the government to devise a contingency plan and allow Myanmar citizens fleeing to Thailand to work temporarily 

The government plans to improve the country's primary care services by allocating 37-billion-baht to train up 62,000 family health care workers and doctors within the next 10 years. 


These will include physicians, nurses and  assistants, dentists, pharmacists, paramedics and traditional Thai medical practitioners. 

 

Prime Minister Thavisin says he proposed establishing pollution mitigation funds with the United Nations at a recent meeting.


The fund would offer financial support to lower-income countries to reduce levels of pollution, by offering and alternative to widespread burning.


the UN's deputy secretary-general noted that pollution problems are linked to the global economy and should not be considered domestic problems. 


The minister of transport has instructed the civil aviation authority to bring down domestic air prices after a complaint appeared on social media showing a flight from Phuket to Bangkok on a budget carrier was 10,000 baht, and another post claimed they were quoted 14,000 baht!
